Glenda's story

  • Marapai Meaning:

    Marapai this piece is titled marapai which means “woman”

  • The strength and resilience of our grandmothers, mothers, aunties, sisters, and daughters. I have depicted in this painting the pathway of hope where hope is renewed, I have painted the symbol of love, a mother and her baby in a cooloman and her digging stick on the other side which she used to provide fruits and berries for her family, women are also depicted around a campfire. I was raised in a family of 11, seven being women, our mother taught us to be resilient,kind, and empathetic. This represents all women we are strong and we are life-givers.
